You can search in our Members listings by company name or business type to find a builder or supplier. Builder members must meet strict admission criteria involving experience, credit worthiness, and customer satisfaction before membership is granted. All builder members are required to be licensed as a Single Family Home Builder or Commercial Contractor by the Arkansas Contractor’s Licensing Board.
May Meeting
Members representing 55 local home building. supply companies, and insurance and financial institutions gathered at the Phoenix Expo May 2nd, for the monthly meeting of the Association membership. Our special guest was the 2013 President of the Arkansas Home Builders Association, Darlene Strough, from Berryville. Ms. Strough presented her perspective on the recently completed regular session of the Arkansas General Assembly as it related to legislation that could have adversely affected the home building industry. Several pieces of legislation were modified or defeated through the efforts of AHBA leadership and lobbyists. The President also discussed ramifications of the proposed adoption of the 2009 Arkansas Energy Codes, as it related to affordability for today's home buyers.
The Association will begin meeting at Fianna Hills Country Club for monthly noon meetings beginning June 6th. This is the result of the recent sale of the Phoenix Expo.

Christmas Banquet
Over 100 member firms were represented December 13th, at the annual Installation of Officers ceremony and Christmas Banquet. 2012 President Rocky Walker handed over the gavel to his successor, Justin Green. The program included a performance by the Southside High School choral group.

The Greater Fort Smith Association of Home Builders was established in 1955 as a local organization to promote housing. We became affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders a few years later, then became part of the Arkansas Home Builders Association when it was established in the 1970's. Today the Association is proud to have over 200 local firms on the membership roll.
